About Scrny

For when you’re stuck, not done.

Scrny is an AI screenshot solver for Mac and Windows. Press ⌥⇧S, drag over any question on your screen, and Scrny shows the answer and every step. Or tap Guide me and work it out yourself.

Who makes Scrny

Scrny is built and run by Siplifi Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12481320). We make the desktop app for Mac and Windows and Scrny on the web at scrny.ai, which also works on phones and Chromebooks.

You can reach us at hello@scrny.ai, or see all the ways to get in touch.

Who writes our guides

Lilian Carlton is Scrny’s Head of Content. She leads the guides on the Scrny blog, and every guide carries her name.

How Scrny answers a question

  1. You snip it

Press the shortcut in any app and drag over the question: a quiz, an equation, an error message.

  2. An AI model reads it

The captured image goes to the frontier vision models we use, which read the question and write the answer.

  3. You see the working

Every answer shows its steps, and math answers are checked by substitution. Guide me gives hints one step at a time instead.

On our tests Scrny is right 99% of the time on multiple choice, across K-12, certifications and intro university. The math solver is about 99% accurate on K-12, AP and intro university calculus across 12,000 verified problems, and about 94% at graduate level.

What happens to your screenshots

We don’t use your screenshots to train AI models, and the AI providers we use don’t either under our agreements. Screenshots are deleted within 24 hours of being processed.

Card numbers are processed directly by Stripe and never reach our servers; we only see the last four digits and the card brand. The privacy policy has the full detail.

Academic integrity

Scrny is a study aid, built for practice, homework and self-study. Every answer shows its working so you can learn from it, and Learn mode guides you to the answer instead of giving it.

Don’t use it in graded exams or proctored assessments, or in any way that breaks your school’s academic-integrity policy. Our Terms don’t allow it, we may suspend accounts used that way, and it doesn’t get around proctoring software. If you’re not sure what your school allows, ask your teacher.
