AI Math Homework Helper: One Problem Set, Solved Three Ways

Here's a problem set from a typical Algebra 2 homework night — five questions, due tomorrow:

Nothing exotic. But if question 2 stalls you, questions 3–5 aren't happening either — math homework fails serially. The chatbot isn't wrong; your transcription was. You just can't easily tell which.

Two smaller frictions add up across a five-question set: you retype five times, and the answers arrive as conversational prose you have to reformat into the show-your-work layout your teacher expects.

Where it wins: concepts, "explain it differently", follow-up questions. Where it fails: anything visually formatted — fractions, exponents, diagrams — and the verification question: is this answer actually right, or just confidently written?
